Had a full breakfast and a veggie breakfast, lovely and freshly done. The staff couldn't do enough for everyone, talking to the kiddies and providing extra toast. Smashing atmosphere made even more special that the young lady who served us was one of the last 36 children to attend when it was still a school. Great place to visit. Great place. We all had a breakfast which was very nice - so much so we went back the next morning! All the food that was brought out looked lovely and very fresh. The staff were incredibly friendly and the menu is reasonably priced. This cafe is a little gem! We would definitely return here.

I put up awrong review recently sorry I have removed that. This is my revised review. We were staying at Cross Inn for the week, as we had to vacate the property by 10am we had decided to have our breakfast here. A lovely old school adapted to a cafe. We were a party of seven plus our 17month old granddaughter. A large table was available and we were seated quickly. We all wanted a cooked breakfast. There's a choice of big and large. I chose big. The lady came over to take our order, she was very friendly and made a fuss of our granddaughter. Before she took the orders she apologised that they were a staff member down in the kitchen and there would be a bit of a wait. We were fine with that as we weren't in a hurry. Tea and coffee came first then... Well it was definitely worth the wait. Fantastic food arrived, those that had ordered the non veg option thought the bacon was the best bacon they'd ever had. The food was cooked perfectly not a scrap was left. Buttered toast, bacon, egg mushrooms, tomatoes, sausage and baked beans. For those that ordered the large There was blackpudding and double eggs and extra sausage and beans if I remember correctly. My one son ordered the veggie option and thoroughly enjoyed the veggie sausages. A great, tasty and filling breakfast. Highly recommend a visit. There are other options but as I knew what I wanted I didn't check out everything available. Toilets are outside nice and clean, the original toilet block possibly. There's also outside seating available the weather was perfect to eat outside the day we visited but we chose to eat inside. Friendly staff and a great chef. Loved it.

Great cafe, lovely and clean with friendly staff. Lots of space inside and out, dog and biker friendly and PLENTY of parking, both out the front in the old school yard and around the back accessed by the lane to the side. Fully recommended

We popped in early on a Saturday morning for some breakfast with our 2 year old daughter. Lovely building. The staff were lovely and very friendly, even put kids programs on the big TV in the restaurant for our little one which kept her quiet (don’t underestimate that!). Full English breakfast was delicious, nice big chunk of black pudding all other items were also really tasty. Picked up some of the bakery items after too, banging Belgian bun! Would highly recommend for both the great service and food, which was very welcomed as we had received awful service and food in general in the area.
